Nach einem sonnigen Tag in Puerto Varas ging es mit dem Velo weiter\u00a0nach Puerto Montt. Und zwar wollte ich es wiederum vermeiden die Autobahn zu nehmen und stattdesen durch ein Dorf abseits der Route zu fahren. Da meine Karte aber einen grossen Masstab hat und man die Details nicht sieht und zudem Wegweiser eine Mangelware sind hier, landete ich trotzdem auf der Autobahn. Es scheint ein Fluch zu sein. Und so fuhr ich die knappen 20km halt auf dem Pannenstreifen…<\/p>\n

Kurz vor Puerto Montt verzweigt die Autobahn (entweder nach Puerto Montt oder Richtung Insel Chiloe) und dort hat es auch eine Zahlstelle. Ich fuhr dann sch\u00f6n brav in die die Spur f\u00fcr die speziellen Fahrzeuge und der Angestellte \u00f6ffnete extra f\u00fcr mich die Barriere, ohne dass ich etwas h\u00e4tte zahlen m\u00fcssen. Entweder d\u00fcrfen auf diesem Teilst\u00fcck tats\u00e4chlich Velos auf der Autobahn fahren, oder es interessiert einfach niemanden…<\/p>\n

Mir war es jedenfalls recht und ich fuhr weiter zum Geb\u00e4ude der NAVIMAG F\u00e4hre in Puerto Montt. Da ich bereits um 18h dort war aber boarding erst um 22h hiess es erst mal warten. Zu meiner Freude musste ich f\u00fcr mein Velo nicht extra zahlen; es ging als Gep\u00e4ck durch. Um 22h war dann tats\u00e4chlich Boarding und wir wurden mit einem Bus zur F\u00e4hre transportiert. Zur F\u00e4hre muss man wissen, dass dies vorwiegend eine Lastwagen-F\u00e4hre ist. Es hat lediglich f\u00fcr 54 Personen Kabinen an Board. Wo die Lastwagenfahrer genau schlafen weiss ich auch nicht… Kaum an Board kl\u00e4rte uns der Zust\u00e4ndige erstmal \u00fcber die Regeln auf. Dies in Spanisch und in einem H\u00f6llentempo. Ich bekam aber mit, dass Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck inklusive ist, der Rest aber nicht und dass Mittagessen und Nachtessen jeweils 3’000 Pesos (was etwa\u00a06 CHF entspricht) kosten. Ein fairer Preis w\u00fcrde ich sagen. Danach legten wir uns auf’s Ohr. Wobei dies etwas schwierig war, da die F\u00e4hre bis um morgens um 6h beladen wurde und der Abzugsschacht der L\u00fcftung f\u00fcr den Laderaum gerade vor unserer Kabine war…<\/p>\n

Der Sonntag war dann ein Prachtstag. Bei Sonnenschein ging es durch die Insellandschaft zwischen Festland und Chiloe. Und da die einzige Alternative das Schauen von irgendwelchen Horrorfilmen gewesen w\u00e4re, blieb mir nichts anderes \u00fcbrig als die Sonne an Deck zu geniessen ;-). Dies unterbrochen durch Mittagessen und Nachtessen und gekr\u00f6nt durch den Sonnenunergang. Was f\u00fcr ein Leben.<\/p>\n

Eigentlich sollten wir am Montag schon um 4h fr\u00fch in Puerto Chacabuco ankommen. Da die F\u00e4hre aber schon zwei Stunden zu sp\u00e4t abfuhr, wurde es fast sieben, was mir auch recht war. Kurz vor 8h mussten wir dann von Bord. Ich durfte dann auch\u00a0noch an einem\u00a0Spiel mitmachen: Wo ist mein Velo? Eine hilfsbereite Angestelle begleitete mich dabei. Zusammen suchten wir in den verschiedenen Fahrzeugdecks der F\u00e4hre; ohne Erfolg. Als ich dann meinen kleinen Empfangsschein zeigte, meinte einer der Angestellten nur „Ah, ein Gep\u00e4ckst\u00fcck ist das. Das ist im Container, der schon ausgeladen wurde“. Und tats\u00e4chlich, im entsprechenden Container fanden wir dann auch wirklich mein Velo. Ganz\u00a0alleine. Nichts anderes war in diesem riesigen Container. Alleine haette ich das nie gefunden…<\/p>\n

Nachdem ich\u00a0wieder komplett ausger\u00fcstet war, ging es endlich los. Zuerst nach Puerto Aysen\u00a0zum Einkaufen und dann in regelm\u00e4ssigen Nieselregen weiter Richtung Coyhaique. Zuerst leicht ansteigend und\u00a0zum Abschluss noch\u00a0\u00fcber einen Pass.\u00a0Unterwegs traf ich\u00a0zwei Deutsche,\u00a0zwei Schweizer (Thomas & Alexander<\/a>) und einen Franzosen an. Alle auf dem Velo. Es scheinen wirklich viele mit dem Velo auf der Carretera Austral unterwegs zu sein. Und die zwei Schweizer haben auch schon Michu, meinen zuk\u00fcnftigen Reisepartner angetroffen. Dieser ist heute\u00a0in Cochrane, ein paar hundert Kilometer\u00a0s\u00fcdlich abgefahren. Die Herausforderung ist jetzt sich irgendwo zu treffen. Wo genau ist noch offen. Und ob es klappt erfahrt Ihr nat\u00fcrlich hier :-).<\/p>\n
