Die Infrastruktur war nat\u00fcrlich erheblich besser, aber die eine oder andere Herausforderung gab es auch hier. Highway 1) der K\u00fcste entlang Richtung Norden. Unterwegs konnten wir auf hilfsbereite Geister z\u00e4hlen, als z.B. <a title=\"LA \u2013 Monterey: Einige \u00dcberraschungen\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.biketravel.net\/de\/bike-around-the-world\/la_monterey\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ines Knie<\/a> nicht mitmachen wollte. Aber schliesslich war auch das Problem behoben und wir erreichten Monterey. So verbrachten wir l\u00e4ngere Zeit auf einem Camping um wieder zu Kr\u00e4ften zu kommen. Aber schlussendlich erreichten wir doch das Yosemite Valley, ergatterten uns einen Platz in Camp 4, bestaunten die hohen Felsw\u00e4nde (und die Kletterer daran) und wanderten etwas. Eine gute Abwechslung zum Velo fahren. Leider klappte das aber nicht, da alle Zeltpl\u00e4tze auf dem Weg noch geschlossen waren und wild campieren nicht erlaubt war. So ging es halt zur\u00fcck ins Central Valley und von dort weiter nach <a title=\"San Francisco\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.biketravel.net\/de\/bike-around-the-world\/san-francisco\/\" target=\"_blank\">San Francisco<\/a>. Und dort hatten wir das Gl\u00fcck die Sonnenfinsternis trotzdem noch etwas zu sehen. Schliesslich verliessen wir Kailfornien und damit verliess uns auch das sch\u00f6ne Wetter etwas. Oregon und sp\u00e4ter auch Washington waren <a title=\"Brookings \u2013 Seattle: Raccoons\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.biketravel.net\/de\/bike-around-the-world\/brookings-seattle\/\" target=\"_blank\">bedeutend feuchter<\/a>; daf\u00fcr aber auch bedeutend gr\u00fcner. Wir liessen uns nicht entmutigen und fuhren weiter. Kurz vor Seattle holten wir schliesslich die Sonne wieder ein. In Seattle war erst Mal Pause f\u00fcr unsere Velos. St. Helens<\/strong> Zuerst machten wir einen Abstecher nach British Columbia, um Verwandte von Ines zu besuchen. Dann fuhren wir durch sinnflutartige Regenf\u00e4lle weiter Richtung S\u00fcdosten und erreichten schlussendlich den <a title=\"OMG: BC \u2013 Yellowstone \u2013 Helens\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.biketravel.net\/de\/bike-around-the-world\/omg-bc-yellowstone-helens\/\" target=\"_blank\">Yellowstone<\/a> Nationalpark. Ich w\u00e4re gerne mit dem Velo dorthin gefahren, aber er war einfach zu weit weg von der K\u00fcste. So oder so war es den Besuch mehr als wert und auch das Wetter spielte mit. Zwar brodelt da im Moment nichts, aber es war f\u00fcr mich trotzdem sehr beeindruckend in dieser durch den Vulkanausbruch v\u00f6llig umgestalteten Landschaft zu stehen. Uns lief die Zeit etwas davon und deshalb ging es wieder zur\u00fcck nach Seattle, wo unsere Velos schon sehns\u00fcchtig warteten und endlich wieder etwas gefahren werden wollten. Wir hofften beide, dass uns in Alaska kein solcher zu nahe kommen w\u00fcrde&#8230; Mit der F\u00e4hre setzten wir \u00fcber nach <a title=\"Hello Canada: Vancouver City &amp; Island\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.biketravel.net\/bike-around-the-world\/de\/hello-canada-vancouver-vancouver-island\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vancouver Island<\/a> und fuhren dann in mehreren Tagen (die Insel ist wirklich lang) hoch bis an ihr n\u00f6rdliches Ende, wo wir an einem See den wunderbaren Sternenhimmel genossen. Nach einem Tag faulenzen und einem Whale watching Ausflug, nahmen wir wiederum eine F\u00e4hre. Speziell war da, dass man an Deck sein Zelt aufstellen durfte. So ein Zeltplatz ist nat\u00fcrlich fast nicht zu \u00fcbertreffen. In Juneau setzen wir das erste Mal unsere Pneus auf Alaskischen Boden. Juneau ist zwar die Hauptstadt von Alaska, aber sie hat keine Strassenverbindung mit ausserhalb. Schon fast etwas verwirrend. Nun waren wir definitiv im B\u00e4renland angekommen und auf dem <a title=\"B\u00e4renland: Haines &amp; Alaska Highway\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.biketravel.net\/de\/bike-around-the-world\/bear-country-haines-and-alaska-highway\/\" target=\"_blank\">Haines Highway<\/a> liefen uns auch einige Schwarzb\u00e4ren \u00fcber den Weg. Die hatten vor uns aber mindestens soviel Angst wie wir vor ihnen&#8230; Was uns nat\u00fcrlich mehr als Recht war. Wir fuhren weiter auf dem Alaska Highway Richtung Norden. Die W\u00e4lder wurden dichter und damit sahen wir immer weniger von der Landschaft. Dies aber erst nachdem wir unsere Kanadischen \u00c4pfel aufgegessen hatten&#8230; Alaska verw\u00f6hnte uns mit ein paar sehr sch\u00f6nen Sonnenunterg\u00e4ngen, wie der am Birch Lake. Und wunderbarem ger\u00e4uchertem Lachs, den wir unterwegs geschenkt bekamen. Und dies auch nur, da uns ein netter Nachbar um 1 Uhr morgens extra weckte :-). Von nun an ging es wieder Richtung S\u00fcden. Und dies f\u00fcr einmal wieder gegen den Wind. Schlussendlich erreichten wir den Denali Nationpark und erkundeten ihn ein wenig mit dem Bus. Ich w\u00e4re gerne mit dem Velo darin herumgefahren. Und damit auch immer weiter hinaus aus dem Bereich der <a title=\"Denali: Fairbanks \u2013 Anchorage\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.biketravel.net\/de\/bike-around-the-world\/denali-fairbanks-anchorage\/\" target=\"_blank\">Polarlichter<\/a>. Als sich endlich wieder eine klare Nacht abzeichnete, beschlossen wir nochmals um ein Uhr aufzustehen. Und was wir sahen verzauberte uns und wir kamen nicht mehr aus dem Staunen heraus (siehe rechts). Etwas m\u00fcde machten wir uns am n\u00e4chsten Morgen wieder auf den Weg. Mit dem sch\u00f6nen Wetter war es leider vorbei. Bis nach Anchorage begleite uns der Regen. Von dort her machten wir uns wieder mit Velo auf den Weg zur\u00fcck. Regen und Sturm begleiteten uns immer mal wieder, aber auch die Sonne zeigte sich. Sie flog nach Hause; und ich noch nicht. Ich wollte noch weiter. Aber auf fliegen hatte ich noch keine Lust und nahm deshalb die F\u00e4hre bis fast nach Seattle. Aber zuerst hatte ich noch einen wunderbaren Tag mit zwei Alaskischen Fischern. Und danach einige st\u00fcrmische Tage auf der F\u00e4hre. Wenn Ihr soviel Gl\u00fcck habt wie ich, dann seht Ihr vielleicht sogar einen springenden Buckelwal :-). Schlussendlich erreichte ich Seattle und nach ein paar Tage Pause ging es weiter.
